Google - The No. 1 Search Engine

Introduction
There
are many companies that provide ads, but presently the market
leaders are overture, kanoodle and google. You might note
that my own ads are not from google but for explanation sake
i have decided to discuss only google. This is not to say
that I have a preferenece for them, but they do dominate 80%
of all visits from search engines and of all the search engines
Google is No. 1.
Google
has several billion websites listed in their search engine
and for each search term there are hundreds of thousands and
even millions of sites.
People
only visit the first few pages so you need to get to the top,
which is very hard.
Since
pages usually display 10 search listings, it is quite obvious
that only the top 10 will be placed on the first page and
the top 20 on the first two pages. With billions of sites
and millions of search listings for each search term, it is
quite obvious that not everyone can get into the top pages.
The
problem is that everyone needs to be seen and unless their
pages can be viewed no transactions will take place and the
webpage will be a waste of time.
Paid
Ads - Pay Per Click
Google,
like many other search engines, have a pay per click service.
Unlike a normal ad service, you are not paying for an impression.
You are paying for real visitors to your site. Google ads
are placed in millions of websites all over the web. They
are related to the type of search your customers will make
to see you and therefore there is a high likelihood of your
sight being seen and visited, which ofcourse is your purpose.
You
have to bid for the ads you place. Your ads will be placed
in sites depending on your bid. The higher the bid, the more
popular the sites will be and therefore the more visitors
you will receive.
Making
Money with Google AdSense
There
are basically two ways that you can earn with Google Ads.
If you are a promoter, you will pay Google for the ads you
place. These ads will be distributed depending on your bid
size and as you will get visitors you will most probably make
sales and this ofcourse will earn you money.
You
can also earn from Google Ads in another way. Google will
pay you for ads to your sight. These will be based on the
number of visits to the ads that are placed as Google charges
for clicks and not impressions. If your site is popular, you
are quite likely to make quite a lot of money from Google
Ads.
Rules
- Up to three ad units may be displayed on each Web site
page.
- A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be
placed on a page.
- A single link unit may be placed on each Web site page,
in addition to the ad units and search boxes specified above.
Link units are considered to be 'Google ads' for purposes
of these program policies.
- No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages.
- No Google ad or Google search box may be displayed on
any domain parking websites, pop-ups, pop-unders, or in
any email.
- No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically
for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page
content is relevant.
- Elements on a page must not obscure any portion of the
ads, and the ad colors must be such that any ad elements,
including text and URL, are visible.
- Clicks on Google ads must not result in a new browser
window being launched.
You cannot modify the links in any way and in addition to
the Google Ads you cannot place ads from another search engine
because Google considers them competitors.
You cannot offer incentives to anyone to click the ads because
Google offers a quality service and would like to ensure that
only genuine visitors click on ads.
This is only a gist of the actual rules. I do not have the
space to include all of them but you can find the full set
of Google policies under https://www.google.com/adsense/policies.
You might note that I have elected to add Google ads in my
pages, since I have thousands of visitors everyday. I am infact
gaining an additional revenue which pays for my site several
times over and perhaps could earn many a good living. I am
great big fan of Google ads and therefore do not hesitate
to suggest them to anyone.
Another way to earn money with google and bidvertisements.

An Alternative - Pay Per Sale
It is true to say that you need a lot of traffic to get a lot of clicks. The more traffic you have the more clicks you are likely to get. As many people do not get enough traffic, an alternative is required. Companies like Amazon offer ads which are instead of pay per click are based on pay per sale. Each sale generates higher commissions and thus it might be worthwhile. There are also many programs for clickbank products which pay much more. Some clickbank programs pay upto 85% commission on sales so a single sale could amount to as much as ten thousand clicks, so to speak.
A Viral Method
This is based on clickbank programs. The ads that are displayed are of top converting, highest paying clickbank programs. But it is viral which means if you can get people to also display their ads, you earn a greater exposure. You are paid for affiliates upto 4 level deep. So even if you get as low as 3 members under you and they also recruit, you could end up with 120 members, each of whom will display ads and thus you could increase you exposure considerably.
I think it is a great way and although I am not displaying these ads on this site, I do display them on other sites. You see I am involved in a few programs and intead of displaying only one type of ad, I try to display several so that not only do I get paid from several sources, I am also able to test which works best.
If you want to try viral text ads, just click on the banner.
